Now if we could have a Metro system like Madrid's!
Madrid, Dec. 14 (ANDINA). The newly elected mayor of Lima Susana Villarán de la Puente was received by the president of the Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, during her visit to Spain to familiarize herself with the infrastructure management model and the formulas for public-private financing used in the Spanish capital.

A New Approach to Traffic Fatalities
Seems that those naughty pedestrians have been getting themselves killed left and right. Time to crack down on walkers who get in the way of those racing, whirling vehicles that speed around the corners aiming for them.

Peru declares Bike Transportation a National Priority
Good idea, given how overcrowded and crazy the roads are! But there are a lot of really nice bike paths available, including the one in the picture, which is Av Arequipa. Arequipa is the boulevard which runs in front of our new place - all the way from Miraflores to Lima centro. Our section of it has a much wider and more beautiful walking / biking path, as you can see from pictures I've posted here on the blog before. Read the article here.
