Why I Don't Blog Much Anymore

I sometimes ask myself why I don't write blog posts more often. I mean, I would like to make at least a post a week on some topic or experience that I find
interesting and which I think might interest others, too. Actually there are lots of things I would like to write about. But it turns out that blogging is sort of like writing a diary: if it's about stuff that you want to make note of for yourself, something that you may want to be reminded of later on, then blogging about it works well. But I realize that what I really want is interaction, communication with people who re important to me. Blogging turns out to be way too one-sided, even if the opportunity to write comments is there. Most readers, even those who find your stuff interesting, are not going to carry on a conversation with the blogger. And really, who has time to make a point of going and reading someone's blog every week or month or so?  If the blog is providing specific information, maybe a new recipe to try each week, or the latest information on raising intelligent kids or some such thing, maybe. But probably not regularly. Right now I'm finding that Facebook offers some of the interactive content that interests me. Many of my friends and relatives post there regularly, so I'm able to keep up with what they're doing and what's going on in their lives. I quickly get to interact in some small way with many of the people important to me each day. The payback, of course, is that you're supposed to post a bit about what's happening with you at the time. Photos are great, too. Copying somebody's cartoon, or a story about a brave dog doesn't really count.
