Speaking of good fish / good seafood, I have set my sites on Barcelona this May! I would like to take the express overnite train from Paris to Barcelona. Can you give me any helpful hints on this connection and also hints on Barcelona? Can you recommend any econo lodging? Please lemme know: terrymac25@hotmail.com Cuidanse!
Hi, Terry! Wow! Your questions are a blast from the past - 2004 to be exact! I will see if I can find anything in my notes, but doubt that they would be useful this far down the road. I do recall that we took an overnite train from Paris to Madrid (but not to Barcelona). When we were in Barcelona, we stayed at a wonderful little place right on La Rambla. I'll see if I can find the name of it for you and send you an email.

Our Apartment
for October 2010
How it Got Started
October 2008: "The flight to Buenos Aires has a layover in Lima, Peru," he says. "Peru. How interesting. So we should stop off in Peru for a few weeks, yes?" "Sounds right to me. November 12th OK with you?" December 2009: So that's how the whole Peru experience started out in 2008. We fell in love with the place and here we are back in Lima for a 2-month stay in 2009-2010. After that, who knows? Maybe this will become our next home. September 2010: And here we are on our way back for the 3rd time. We've packed up and left Costa Rica (after 8 years) and are looking forward to finding our next permanent home - in the great city of Lima, Peru!
OK. So it's $2.48 Now
Gene just pointed out to me that "most Peruvians miss the $2 lunch, too. So I recalculated it, based on today's exchange rate. And anyhow, we're back, so we're not missing it any more. We're enjoying it!
While we were in the states, I ordered some of my own fridge magnet creations with photos of fish in the markets (see above). I am happy to say that they are awesome. Now I just need a fridge to put them on!

And indeed it was. Some of the freshest fish I've ever eaten!
